Mental Health Treatment Plan
1. Visit Your GP
Book an appointment to see your GP to discuss how you are feeling and the symptoms you have been experiencing.
2. Obtain a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP)
Your GP will assess your eligibility for a MHTP, and write up a plan with a referral letter to your preferred clinician.
The MHTP will provide you access to an initial 6 sessions.
In total you can access up to 10 sessions per calendar year with up to 85% of the session cost covered under Medicare.
3. Review Plan
Your GP will review and update your MHTP to allow for an additional 4 sessions. A re-referal is required.
